Anomaly Cafe Characters — Playable Staff, Shop NPCs & Who's Next

Five staff members are playable in Anomaly Cafe right now, each with a class, a starting sanity pool and perks that change how a shift plays. This page lists what each one actually does and costs — with alpha price changes flagged — plus the two NPCs that run the shops, and the three characters confirmed but not yet released.

Starter ClassFree — your starting character100Starts each shift with $50 extra and cooks 5% faster — the balanced apprentice the game hands you first.
Pyro
Bunny
Cooking Class110 Bells100Cooks 10% faster and starts with a metal pan (3 uses) — the cheapest upgrade and a direct answer to the kitchen threats.
Jim-Jam
Monkey
Utility Class500 Bells (raised from 250 during alpha)200Moves 5% faster, earns 10% more on orders they personally serve, banana orders pay 10% extra — and they start with a banana topping (currently reported bugged).
Mr. Wolfgang
Wolf
Coffee Class1,500 Bells (raised from 90 during alpha)150Starts with coffee; drinking one makes him cook 15% faster for 60 seconds. Perfect personal orders stack up to +15% money, counter tips +5%.
Lemon
Ghost ant
Lucky ClassRobux only — the one paid-currency exclusive150The lucky wildcard: moves quickly, earns better tips, and can hand out cookies to the team.

Costs and stats move during alpha — two characters have already been repriced. Numbers above reflect the latest patch we verified; if the game updated since August 27, 2026, check in game before spending Bells.

Which character should you buy first?

Going by what the perks actually do: Pyro is the value pick — 110 Bells for 10% faster cooking plus a starting pan, which doubles as a weapon against Spore Fly in the kitchen threats. Faster, cleaner cooking also means fewer Buno and Flamme spawns, since cooking mistakes are spawn conditions in this game.

Wolfgang's coffee loop is the stronger economy engine but costs 1,500 Bells after his alpha reprice; Jim-Jam suits players who mostly serve rather than cook. Lemon is a luck-and-tips wildcard locked behind Robux — fun, not required.

The two NPCs that run your economy

🐑 Bonny — tutorial & item shop

Bonny guides you through new mechanics from your first day and carries most of the early story in her dialogue. At the end of Day 7 she opens a shop selling items and upgrades for in-game cash; from Day 18 onward she appears only there. If you want the game's lore, read her lines before clicking through them.

📺 Scrappy — the upgrade system

Scrappy is a television, and also the closest thing the game has to a progression tree: she appears next to Bonny's shop at the end of Day 7 during break time and sells permanent upgrades for cash that make shifts faster and easier.

Confirmed but not released yet

Three characters have published designs and classes but no release date, stats, costs or abilities:

  • Aza — Waiter Class, a black cat.
  • Chipper — Buffer Class, a sugar glider.
  • Mellow — Sweet Class, a sheep.

Everything about how they will play is unannounced. Any site listing numbers for them today is guessing — when the game ships them, this page gets the verified version.

Anomaly Cafe characters — FAQ

  • Who are the playable characters in Anomaly Cafe?

Five staff members are playable right now: King (the free starter), Pyro (110 Bells), Jim-Jam (500 Bells), Mr. Wolfgang (1,500 Bells) and Lemon (Robux-only). Each has a class, a starting sanity value and its own cooking or earning perks. Three more — Aza, Chipper and Mellow — have published character designs but no release date.

  • How do I unlock more characters?

With Bells, the in-game currency, from the character shop — except Lemon, who is currently the only Robux-exclusive. Prices have moved during alpha (Jim-Jam went from 250 to 500 Bells, Wolfgang from 90 to 1,500), so treat any listed cost as current-patch, not permanent.

  • Who is Bonny in Anomaly Cafe?

The tutorial NPC. She guides you through new mechanics from Day 1, opens a shop at the end of Day 7 selling items and upgrades for in-game cash, and from Day 18 onward appears only in that shop. Her dialogue also carries most of the game's early lore.

  • What does Scrappy do?

Scrappy — a TV — is the upgrade system. She appears alongside Bonny's shop at the end of Day 7 during break time and sells permanent upgrades for cash that make shifts faster and easier.

  • Which characters are coming next?

Three have published designs marked for a future update: Aza (Waiter Class, a black cat), Chipper (Buffer Class, a sugar glider) and Mellow (Sweet Class, a sheep). Their stats, costs and abilities are all still unannounced — anything a site lists for them today is invented.
